Bachata Performance Group -
Masha, Gaberial, Bryan, Heather, Abbey, Nicholson, Vipul, & Ada

Gaberial and I created group choreography to the Bachata version of the song Blinding Lights by The Weeknd. We had SO much fun and got to perform together at several different events. Our first event was the Morristown Hola Festival. They put on a really fun festival each year! If you get a chance to go, I highly recommend seeing as many unique performers as possible. There are traditional dances, singers, and musicians.

The Knoxville Hola Festival was our next performance location. They host a multi-day event featuring live bands, performers, dancers, and so much food! We had an excellent time together performing on stage once again.

Our Bachata Performance Group put in LONG hours of practice so that we would be perfectly in sync. We ended up with lots of inside jokes and the ever-lasting “boob bump,” which we must do every time we see each other. I remember lying on the floor a couple of times because I was laughing so hard that I couldn’t stand up.

In addition to both Hola Festivals, we got to perform two other times, including an event hosted by Gaberial and me at Lighthouse Knoxville and our showcase at the Tennessee Amphitheater in World’s Fair Park.

We had a last-minute change to our group, as one of the dancers was unavailable for our October Showcase; Joe stepped in to learn our choreography over the course of just a few days! He worked so hard and did so well. Gaberial and I were extremely proud of everyone for their dedication. I’m so thankful for the friendships and bonds we created during our experiences together.
